If the world was blind, how many people would you impress? That’s a pretty powerful question to me. It takes away so many things, so many “accomplishments” that we think of. Suddenly, my missing leg and being out and about isn’t a big deal. “Oh, your jumping in a bouncy house with your daughter… great…” Unless I make a point of SAYING I only have one leg, it wouldn’t be known.
Do I really want to be known as the one legged guy in the end? I hope that’s not it! I’m so thankful for my opportunity to help give encouragement and show that life with one leg is still amazing. But when I die, I hope that’s not my defining story.
What about you? If the world was blind, would it be impressed with you WITHOUT you needing to explain why it’s impressive?
